Our Programs-Virtual Field Trips for the Classroom

My programs are a great way to teach the students how to use different kinds of technology to learn about the world, without ever having stepped out of the classroom! No special materials required by the host teacher.

I provide a pre-package that clarifies the guidelines so we can work together effectively through Skype, and provides link to specific videos needed in each presentation, etc.

Coastal Rainforests of the Pacific Northwest Part A (30 minutes) CAD $25
This is our flagship program! Meet a naturalist and field biologist who has lived and worked in the rainforests along the Pacific coast. Listen to a legend about the three main trees found in this region, examine a cone closely and watch a 4 minute video that helps you identify the trees and shows you the habitat they live in. Ask some questions about nature in the area.

Part B (30 minutes) CAD $25
Find out what a slice of a tree can tell you about the region where it grew (through a question/answer session) and learn the role of different parts of a tree are through a role play.

Part C (30 minutes) CAD $25
Start by having your class prepare some questions on a group blog before the question/answer session.
Tailor it to what you are studying: what it's like to live here year round, who the people are, what the varied terrain is like, the settlement patterns, and discover how the climate & geography affects everyday life, tourism and business. Each student (to a max of 30) gets to come up and ask a question of your guest speaker while the rest of the class watches and listens to the answer.

Or Order All 3 as a Series! CAD $70

Service Dogs in The Classroom (30 minutes) $25
Find out how service dogs can impact the lives of the people they are trained to help and see a live demonstration of several service dog tasks . Discover proper etiquette when you see a working service dog and find out how assistance dogs are trained today using the same methods that other top trainers of working dogs use. View a short training video showing a dog in training.

Whoo's There? Owl Program (30 min) $25
Here's a great way to get students excited about owls! I have created a 3:30 video about the Barred owls that live in the forest across from my house, their adaptations and photos of their young as they grow.Your students will ask questions about owls in the video, learn calls of three owls and why they call, and play a game that shows how they use their hearing to find prey.
